Take the frozen pieces and place them in the food processor and process them until they’ve the consistency of ice cream (this can take a few minutes depending on the strength of your processor’s motor.) Banana Based Fruit Smoothies:

Any smoothie can be a banana smoothie. They add sweetness and thickness to a glass of milk (dairy, soy, oat, rice or almond) and together with ice and a blender make an exceptionally easy breakfast or filler for the “I’m starving” time between arriving home from work or school and eating dinner.

To make a basic smoothie:

  • 400 ml of your chosen milk. In summer use 100ml of ice to 300 ml of milk.
  • 1 banana
  • 100 grams of fruit: melon, pineapple, strawberries, orange pieces (chopped with the skin off)
If it’s too thick add more milk or water.

  1. Whizz in 30 second pulses.
  2. Whizz the banana and other fruit.
  3. Add the liquid.
  4. You want it to have the thickness of a good milkshake.

If you only have bananas. Use 4 small ones or 2 big ones. Add cinnamon and a couple of drizzles of honey. Taste it for sweetness because smoothie bananas are very sweet naturally.

As before always make sure your blender lid is on tightly.
