  • eat ‘real food’ not processed
  • check what good oils & good fats are in the food you choose to consume – avoid the bad ones
  • more eat fruits & vegetables
  • fish, and omega-3 rich oils

The Three City Study

These may decrease the risk of dementia and Alzheimer disease according to The Three City Study with 8,085 non-demented participants aged 65 and over and with a follow up over 4 years.

“Frequent consumption of fruits and vegetables, fish and omega-3 rich oils may decrease the risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s.”
“…regular consumption of omega-6 rich foods (not compensated for by consumption of omega-3 rich foods) was associated with an increased risk of dementia”.

What oils to Avoid?

  • Cotton seed oil
  • Corn oil
  • Grape seed oil
  • Soya bean oil
  • Sunflower oil
  • Margarine
Most blended vegetable oil contain a combination of these oils, and should be avoided.

Okay, What is good then?

Instead use flax seed (same as linseed) oil which is rich in omega-3. Also olive oil and canola oil. Also eat seafood, limit meat (unless grass-fed).

How to get a good Butter spread?

Either eat just butter or make your own soft butter by softening it a bit, adding olive oil to it, combine it and it makes a soft spread.
